MY MOMMY'S ONLY SURVIVING SISTER

We celebrated the Sevilla Family reunion last April 18, 2009 in Bubulong Malake, San Ildefonso, Bulacan...the place where my Mommy was born. This was the second year the family on my mother's side held a reunion. My family on my Mom's side is really really big. Almost all of my relatives are from that place and despite of financial conditions they have...I can feel their sense of peace, happiness and simplicity of life. The place is very provincial but with fresh air. We had two lechons (roasted pigs), fish, vegetables, corns and mangos which they harvested from their backyard. The occassion was very simple and some of my relatives presented a surprise number showing how my Mom's family started. Each family has an assigned color for their T-shirt to wear. It was fun and my sister Ate Virgie promised that she will sponsor the SEVILLA FAMILY reunion next year...same place. My MOm's only surviving sister, NANA PRISENG, was also there. I got her from her house where she was staying. She's experiencing memory lapse due to old age. She is past 90 years old already. She was looking for Mom but my Mom has to stay in Manila because she can no longer bear to travel. They have never seen each other for few years now and it is quite saddening for both of them to experience that. Age is the worst enemy of life and no one ever defeats age. I wish one day, they will still see each other and exchange hugs and kisses. GOD's willing...!!!

HOLY WEEK

I spent Holy Week in Manila. We had various activities in the church where I am serving as Lector. I made a visit to several churches here in Manila (Vicita Iglesia) last Holy Thursday night. It was so spiritually uplifting seeing thousands of people going to churches to pray and meditate. It was already a tradition on my part to do this yearly.
Holy Week is one great opportunity to make a reflection and know..to understand for ourselves the Passion, Death and Resurrection of our Creator after He saved us from our sins.

HIGH SCHOOL REUNION

Our High School Batch'79 celebrated a batch reunion last April 11, 2009. Our class section-1 sponsored the affair. It was so successful. Preparation started mid of 2008 and there were series of meetings just to make this possible. We made information drive...establishing a communication line with our former classmates/batchmates. We had a day of good memories... a lot of fun and excitement seeing again our classmates/batchmates and our former teachers and advisers 30 years ago. I hosted the affair with my former classmate as my co-host. For more information about this, you can open this blog file: http://www.smhs-batch79.blogspot.com

RECOGNITION NIGHT

My company hosted a recognition night for all officers of the bank. Every year, my employer gives award to good performers in terms of target achievements. I am fortunate that I am of those who was honored. This was held last March 20, 2009 in one of the 5-star hotels in Makati, Philippines.
